The Mid-Region Council of Governments (MRCOG) seeks a Planning Program Coordinator to work as part of an interdisciplinary team to support the Mid-Region Metropolitan Planning Organization (MRMPO) and Regional Transportation Planning Organization (RTPO).
Under the direction of the MRMPO Transportation Program Manager, the Planning Program Coordinator works closely with management, Board / Committee Chair and Members, and various public agencies to provide a wide variety of complex administrative support. The Program Coordinator shall adhere to Board Meeting requirements as outlined in the Open Meetings Act, regional bylaws, and various committee charters. Possesses knowledge and experience in preparing agendas, documenting, and preparing minutes of meetings, which shall include discussions and deliberations carried out during such meetings, and recording the resolutions of the Board and voting results. The Program Coordinator will prepare and process all correspondence in compliance with accessibility standards and guidelines. Will serve as the MRCOG Title VI Coordinator to oversee development, management, and review of governance policies, initiating and monitoring Title VI activities, preparing required reports, and other MRCOG workflows.
The Program Coordinator shall be a highly motivated individual with excellent organizational skills who is committed to undertake a variety of administrative and program tasks that include meeting deadlines and schedules. Ability to work independently in the absence of supervision and maintain good working relationships with diverse community groups. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Associates or bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university and two - four years' experience in similar position or equivalent combination of education and experience.
