The 2045 Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) project listing draft is attached for all agencies to update and make any necessary revisions, additions (new projects), or deletions for future TIP developments. This is a critical step in the MPO transportation planning process and should not be ignored by member agencies.
The update to this project listing is critical in developing our Long-Range MTP Financial Plan and tracking MTP fiscal constraint. The MTP project listing is also instrumental for future Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) developments.
Project proposals must be in the MTP to be considered for future federal funds programmed by the MPO and for future discretionary grant programs.
Revision Instructions
- Please use the tabs at the bottom of the attached worksheet to identify your lead agency.
- If your lead agency is not in the workbook, please contact MRMPO staff to discuss the next steps.
- Please open your correct lead agency and only your agency’s tab for updates.
- Go to the light-yellow/orange columns from “M” to “Y” and fill out the project info, lead agency updates, time frame changes, and most importantly, MTP total project cost updates related.
- Mark the Archive Request column with “X” when a project is being removed/deleted from the list. Please notify MPO staff of a proposed deletion in the Notes/Remarks column.
Once again, MRMPO highly encourages agencies to review existing projects in the MTP project listing and reevaluate total estimated project costs before adding new projects.
Adding New Projects (Only if necessary)
- When adding a new project, please scroll to the bottom of the list until you find a bright yellow row. This is the area where your agency should be entering new project proposals.
- For all new projects, please fill out the attached New Project Proposal Form and provide us with as much information as possible.
- Please note that new additions should be extremely limited, considering slowed growth and fiscal constraint concerns for the AMPA.
- If you propose to add a new project, MRMPO will contact you to review with staff and make a final determination of project need. MRMPO will investigate all new proposals due to increased project costs over the last four years. MRMPO’s goal is to ensure we have sufficient funds for the existing projects in the 2045 list.
Other Considerations
MRMPO is required to keep older projects from FFY 2020-2025 TIP on the list since the 2045 MTPO base year is FFY 2020. Because of this, MRMPO staff must include projects from FFY 2020-2045 in the listing and track fiscal constraints for this timeframe.
Please update your projects and return this spreadsheet to MRMPO on or before August 30, 2024.
