TechHire New Mexico

On March 10, 2015, President Obama announced his TechHire initiative, a new campaign to expand local tech sectors by building tech talent pipelines in communities across the country.

Public - Private Initiative

TechHire is a public-private initiative in American cities, states, and rural communities to get more Americans rapidly trained for well-paying technology jobs. This multi-sector effort to fill critical local Information Technology jobs is a call to action to empower a diverse array of Americans with the skills they need to fill these jobs, including through rapid nontraditional approaches like "coding boot camps" and high-quality online courses.

Technical Training

The TechHire initiative launched in 2015 with 21 communities and over 300 employers committed to providing Americans with the accelerated, nontraditional technical training they need to obtain better jobs and achieve better futures. Since the launch of TechHire, the initiative has grown to 50 communities and more than 600 employers, committed to improving the lives of Americans.

The TechHire New Mexico program was funded by a grant awarded by the United States Department of Labor's Employment and Training Administration.
