Short Range Plan: TIP

Transportation Improvement Program Logo

Transportation Improvement Program (TIP)

The Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) is a short-term plan that programs funding, particularly federal funding, for transportation projects. All projects within the Albuquerque Metropolitan Planning Area (AMPA) (PDF) receiving federal highway or transit funding must be in the TIP. The TIP is the region's mechanism of allocating its limited transportation resources among the various transportation needs based on a clear set of short-term transportation priorities. Updated biennial, it sets the schedule for improvements to the region's transportation system over the next six years.

MRMPO staff along with the Transportation Program Technical Group have developed a recommended draft FFY 2020-2025 TIP scenario for STP-Large Urban, TAP Large Urban, STP-Small Urban, and STP-Rural fund sources.
