- Short Range Plan: TIP
The Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) is a short-term plan that programs funding, particularly federal funding, for transportation projects. All projects within the Albuquerque Metropolitan Planning Area (AMPA) (PDF) receiving federal highway or transit funding must be in the TIP. The TIP is the region's mechanism of allocating its limited transportation resources among the various transportation needs based on a clear set of short-term transportation priorities. Updated biennial, it sets the schedule for improvements to the region's transportation system over the next six years.
The Mid-Region Metropolitan Planning Organization (MRMPO) has begun the development of the FFY 2020-2025 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) for the Albuquerque Metropolitan Planning Area (AMPA). Any surface transportation project within the AMPA, (NMDOT District 3) which receives Federal surface transportation funding must be included in the TIP.
